Katendrecht | ||||||
The current successful development of middle income housing in Katendrecht is to be followed up by the construction of 1700 dwellings, varying from urban intensive residential development at the entrance to the schiereiland, to more conventional forms of housing towards the Nieuwe Maas River. The coming of the SS Rotterdam, now converted into a congress centre with leisure and catering facilities, to the head of Katendrecht will boost the image of the district. This attraction, along with schools, shops and restaurants located close to the main access to the area, will ensure that Katendrecht becomes a lively part of the city. In association with these developments, investment is also being put into cleaning up the quays and public space around the underground station. Katendrecht is one of the important Rotterdam projects which will help keep the middle class in the city. | publications
